Last week, Andrew’s Planning Team at the Thames-Coromandel District Council had a picnic. Just the team and their families. It was a very pleasant afternoon.
We met at Waiomu (wy-OH-moo), found a picnic table, and Leigh set up the barbeque. He cooked sausages and the meats that we all brought. Andrew and I had chicken and salad. We shared much of the food, and it was all yummy.
Andrew and I played with Elizabeth’s large dog, throwing sticks for her to fetch. The problem was that once she had a stick, she simply refused to let go of it. So, we kept having to find other sticks that interested her even more, so that she would let go of the one and fetch the other. If we threw the sticks into the water, she would swim out to get them.
We look forward to the time when Tazmin will swim out to fetch sticks or balls, too. She’ll fetch her toys when we are at home, but when we’re on the beach, she is much more interested in eating shells and sniffing everything.
The Thames-Coromandel District Council Planning Team picnic was a lot of fun, and the food was good, too. It was nice getting to know the people a bit more in a pleasant and informal setting. Thanks for letting me come, guys.
